Saturday 28th of May marked a very special day for Northwood School, as Old Boys Day is the highlight for any schoolboy during their high school sporting career.
This year Northwood played Hilton College.
The first team hockey match started off on a really good note and as a high tempo game. Northwood played some great hockey moving the ball really well. Soon we were rewarded with a very well worked team goal from Cade Leaity.
Josh Cowell was once again on the score board with another powerful dragflick to make the score 2-0 going into half time.
Hilton started the second half on the front foot and came back to make the score 2-2 with a well worked short corner and a lovely team goal from them.
The Northwood boys did not give up. A short corner was awarded to Northwood and Josh Cowell stepped up and scored yet another dragflick to make the score 2-3.
In the last 5 minutes Northwood were pushing hard for a fourth goal. Some well worked play from a Northwood sixteen yard hit ended with Slater Capell having a backstick shot from a very acute angle and scoring to make the end score 4-2.
