Holland Hockey Tour 2016 Round-Up

Holland – Hockey Tour

26 November – 8 December 2016

WOW WOW WOW …………. What an amazing experience for our Northwood boys!

A squad of 28 boys and 4 coaches left on the 26 November 2016 for an 11 night hockey tour of Holland.

The boys played 7 matches at different clubs around Holland, which was a great way to see Holland and to meet the locals who were so hospitable and friendly all the time.

The hockey was of a very high standard with fantastic facilities, each club having at least 3-4 astro’s as well as clubhouses where the boys would have dinner/lunch with their team mates after each game.

Two training clinics were set up at HC Amsterdam and HC Rotterdam with the likes of Justin Reid Ross -South African Olympic player, playing at HC Amsterdam, Martijn Driyver – Legendary Goalie Coach, Alistar Brogdan & Simon Egerton -Great Britian Olympic player and HC Rotterdam players coaching the boys.

The tour would not be complete without a bit of culture, the boys got to experience a Canal Cruise, The Amsterdam Dungeons, Anne Frank House, Kinderdijk Windmills, The Euromast tower and Harbour Cruise in Rotterdam, Scheveningen Ferris Wheel in The Hauge and the highlight was spending a full day at “De Uithof” an indoor snow ski area in The Hague.

The boys got to say farewell to Matthew Fairweather and got to meet Shaun Baker our new MIC for Hockey who joined the tour for 4 days in Amsterdam from the UK.

Just a big thank-you once again to Northwood school, all the parents who worked so hard and our sponsors for making this dream a reality.

A pre-tour magazine was compiled, with amazing articles and pictures of Northwood School’s history. Copies are available at reception for a cost of R100.00.

Brand A Northwood Grandstand

Northwood is offering local business an opportunity to advertise on a grandstand for 3 years with a once off rate of R25 000.

The grandstand is made from 100% recyclable plastic with a lifetime warrantee. Branding will be attached above the top level of the grandstand on a two sided pole structure giving very clear visibility when people are seated. Branding will be printed on both sides (see mock-up on photo) which particularly on busy rugby days, where matches are played on 3 fields, gives companies a tremendous amount of exposure. The nature of the stands allows for mobility and the aim is to have them utilised at the swimming pool area, the astro and at the rugby fields. These new grandstands are 3,6m long x 5 tiers high, seating approximately 35-40 people each. The once off payment of R25 000 ensures that your branding is on the grandstand for 3 years and includes the cost of printing, set up and maintenance.
